A Housewell Complete benefit

Thirty minutes of help, on every Complete visit.

Every Housewell Complete visit includes 30 minutes of Helper time, guaranteed, not a perk you forfeit. You choose the tasks and send your list at least 48 hours ahead. We bring the time and the hands; you supply the parts. The crew works the list, then sends a photo report of what got done.

What counts, what doesn’t

The full scope, published, so nothing is argued at the door.

The Helper covers a lot of small tasks and draws a clear line at what it doesn’t. Both lists below live on this page so you know exactly what to expect on visit day.

Yes, counts as Helper

Quick, low-risk, parts-supplied
  • Light bulb replacement, reachable fixtures (step stool at most)
  • Smoke + CO detector battery replacement and button test
  • Battery swap, thermostat, doorbell, keypad lock, remotes
  • Slide-in filter swap, secondary HVAC unit or fridge water/ice filter
  • GFCI outlet or breaker reset (press or flip)
  • Tighten loose screws, hinges, knobs, handles, cabinet pulls, toilet seat, towel bars (existing holes, no drilling)
  • Re-seat a loose snap-in vent register or return grille
  • Peel-and-stick items, command hooks, doorstops, cabinet bumpers, felt pads, foam weatherstrip

No, routes to the Pros menu or a partner

Time, risk, or license over the line
  • Hanging pictures, mirrors, shelves, curtain rods, blinds, or TVs (any wall drilling)
  • Any plumbing or water connection (faucet aerators, showerheads, flappers, supply lines)
  • Caulking or paint touch-ups
  • Screw-in door sweeps
  • Anything at height beyond a standard step stool
  • Anything inside a wall or requiring a licensed trade
  • Appliance repair or furniture assembly
  • Any single task over 15 minutes
If a task doesn’t fit, we route it to the Pros menu and price it separately. No surprise charges. The crew will tell you at the door, before the clock starts, if something on your list won’t count.
How it works

Four steps. The whole loop fits in one day.

Step 1

Reminder before your visit

Your crew lead texts you a few days before your visit, with a link to choose your Helper tasks.

Step 2

Submit at least 48 hours ahead

Single form in the portal: choose your tasks. Time per task auto-calculated so you stay inside 30 min. The 48-hour deadline lets dispatch set aside your time.

Step 3

Crew brings the time

They arrive with your maintenance scope plus the 30-min Helper budget, ready to work the list you sent.

Step 4

Photo report covers everything

Photo report with timestamped photos of the maintenance work and the Helper tasks they did.

Why the boundaries are hard

30-minute cap. 15-minute per-task ceiling. Neither moves.

We include the Helper because thirty focused minutes is often the difference between a to-do list that lingers and one that’s done. It keeps the small recurring tasks moving between the bigger visits.

The caps are what keep it dependable. A clear 30-minute window and a 15-minute-per-task ceiling mean the crew can finish the quick wins and still keep your maintenance scope on schedule. Stretch it into open-ended handyman work and the visit slips, the route slips, and the next member waits. So the cap stays, the ceiling stays, and the Helper stays included.

What a Helper visit looks like

Thirty minutes, and a few small tasks get done.

We’re new in Stone Oak, so we’ll let real members speak here once they have. For now, here’s the kind of work a single Helper window can cover.

A backlog of bulb changes and one wobbly drawer pull you’ve been ignoring for a year. Both handled in a single visit, while the crew is already there.
1
The backlog clear-outA typical first-visit Helper list
Text the list in ahead of time, and the crew works through it: four bulbs swapped, a GFCI reset, a loose towel bar tightened. Twelve minutes, and a few items are off your list.
2
The quick roundA list sent in ahead of the 48-hour deadline
Sometimes a task is out of scope, like a new smoke alarm that needs a permit. The crew won’t fake it. They’ll do what’s safe and in scope instead, like testing the units you have and swapping batteries.
3
The honest limitWhen a task isn’t ours to do
Helper vs. handyman

Different tool for a different job. Use both.

The Helper isn’t a replacement for a handyman, it handles the small recurring tasks that pile up between visits. Here’s the side-by-side:

Housewell · member benefit

The Helper

Included with Housewell Complete
  • Cost Included with Housewell Complete
  • Time budget 30 min / visit, guaranteed
  • Per-task cap 15-minute ceiling
  • Parts You supply, no markup
  • Call-out fee None, crew is already there
  • Frequency Every 2 months, 6× / year
Separate service

A handyman

What you’d hire on Thumbtack or by referral
  • Cost $75–125/hr typical
  • Time budget 1-hour minimum, usually 2+
  • Per-task cap None, bring a long list
  • Parts They supply, marked up
  • Call-out fee $50–100 common
  • Frequency On-demand, scheduled separately
Bottom line: the Helper covers the small tasks that pile up between handyman visits, and it saves you scheduling someone for ten minutes of work. For bigger projects, hire a handyman. We can recommend one.

All FAQs
The portal will tell you when you’re over 30 minutes, it auto-totals the estimated time as you add tasks. You have two options: cut the list to fit, or leave the overflow on the list and the crew will work top-down until the 30 minutes are spent. Anything they don’t get to stays on your list for the next visit. If a single overflow task is something we’d quote as a Pros service (gutter cleaning, soft wash, etc.), we’ll suggest that at the door.
Your Complete visit still includes the 30 minutes. The crew completes the maintenance scope and offers the Helper time on-site for anything quick you point out at the door. To have us set aside the full window and bring the right approach, submit your list at least 48 hours ahead, that deadline is what lets us plan route and crew load. Helper time is per-visit and doesn’t roll over.
Yes. The portal supports two-account households on every membership, no extra cost. Both of you can add to the same task list, and the crew sees one combined list. We recommend deciding who hits “send to crew” so the list doesn’t get re-submitted at the last minute.
No. You supply the parts; we supply the time, the hands, and the tools. This is core to how the Helper stays included, once we start carrying inventory for tasks we can’t predict, the cost math falls apart. The crew carries a small stash of common bulbs and batteries, billed through at cost with no markup, but Helper parts (bulbs, batteries, filters, adhesive hooks) are on you. If you’re not sure what to buy, ask in the portal and the crew lead will text you a list before visit day.
No, it’s per-visit and doesn’t roll over. If you have a quiet quarter with nothing on the list, that’s a free quarter. The point isn’t to bank an hour for a big project, the point is to never let small things pile up. Save-up mechanics would also wreck the cost math (a member who saves three visits’ worth could ask for 90 minutes once a year, which is well past where the Helper economics work).

The Helper comes with Housewell Complete, and your first month is free.
